LiveLingo Chrome Extension
Live translated captions for any tab, from that tab's audio.
Quick Answer: Is there a LiveLingo Chrome extension?
Yes. The official extension is LiveLingo - Voice Translator on the Chrome Web Store, offered by LiveLingo and published by Lunana Global Inc. (extension ID eigfncfnmccijmoghhcalokdfkihjigl). Click its icon on a tab that is playing audio and translated captions appear on the page. Free for 3 minutes a day; sign in to use your Pro minutes.
What it does
- Captions on the page you are watching. A caption bar appears over the tab, translated as people speak. Drag it wherever it is out of the way.
- Any tab with audio. Videos, webinars, livestreams, online courses, and meetings you join in the browser, such as Google Meet or the web versions of Zoom and Teams.
- Tab audio only. It listens to the tab, not your microphone, and shows captions instead of speaking aloud, so the original audio keeps playing as normal.
- 35 languages, any pair. Pick the language being spoken and the language you want to read.
How to install and use it
- Open LiveLingo - Voice Translator on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome. Pin it from the puzzle-piece menu so the icon stays in the toolbar.
- Go to a tab that is playing audio and click the LiveLingo icon. A panel opens on the page.
- Choose the language being spoken and your language, then press Start. Captions appear on the page as people speak. Press Stop to end them, or the X to close the panel.
Requires Google Chrome 116 or later on a computer. You can also set a keyboard shortcut for the panel at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an official LiveLingo Chrome extension?
Yes. The official extension is "LiveLingo - Voice Translator" on the Chrome Web Store, offered by LiveLingo and published by Lunana Global Inc., the company behind LiveLingo. Its extension ID is eigfncfnmccijmoghhcalokdfkihjigl. It is the only Chrome extension LiveLingo publishes.
How do I know I installed the official LiveLingo extension?
Check three things on the Chrome Web Store listing: the name is "LiveLingo - Voice Translator", the developer is Lunana Global Inc., and the address ends in eigfncfnmccijmoghhcalokdfkihjigl. Install it from the link on this page to be sure. LiveLingo is not affiliated with other extensions that use a similar name.
What does the LiveLingo Chrome extension do?
It shows live translated captions on top of the page you are watching, made from that tab's audio. Use it for videos, webinars, livestreams, courses, and meetings you join in the browser. It listens to the tab, not your microphone, and it shows captions rather than speaking the translation aloud.
Is the LiveLingo Chrome extension free?
Yes, for 3 minutes a day with no account. Sign in with your LiveLingo account to use your Pro or Pro+ minutes instead. The extension and the LiveLingo web app share one monthly allowance.
Does it work with Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams?
Yes, when the meeting is open in a Chrome tab, for example Google Meet or the browser versions of Zoom and Teams. Desktop meeting apps do not play their audio in a tab, so the extension cannot hear them. For those, open the LiveLingo web app or the phone app next to the meeting.
Does the extension translate what I say?
No. It translates the audio playing in the tab, so you understand the other side. To translate both sides of a conversation, use the LiveLingo app on iPhone or Android, or the web app at livelingo.io/app.
Which languages does the extension support?
35 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, translated between any pair.
