Cookie & Tracking Policy

Last updated: May 3, 2026

This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how LiveLingo (a product of Lunana Global Inc.) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at livelingo.io and within our mobile applications. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device to remember information about your visit. We also use related technologies — local storage, mobile SDKs, pixel tags, and the iOS App Tracking Transparency framework — under the same general principles. References to "cookies" below cover all of these technologies unless otherwise specified.

2. Categories of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies

  • Supabase authentication session cookies: required to keep you signed in. Set by our authentication provider, scoped to livelingo.io. Persist for the duration of your session and are refreshed on each visit. These cookies cannot be disabled because they are essential to the operation of the Service.

Analytics cookies

  • Google Analytics 4 / Firebase Analytics: measures site and app usage (page views, sessions, events such as sign-up and purchase). Default retention is 26 months. You can opt out of Google Analytics on the web by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on; on iOS, you can opt out via the App Tracking Transparency prompt or by disabling analytics in your device settings.

Advertising and conversion-tracking cookies

  • Google Ads conversion tracking: measures the effectiveness of our advertising. Set when you arrive from a Google Ads referral and trigger when you complete an action such as sign-up or purchase.
  • Meta Pixel (web) and Facebook SDK (iOS): measures the effectiveness of advertising on Meta's platforms. Tracks page views and conversion events such as PageView, CompleteRegistration, Subscribe, and StartTrial.

You can opt out of advertising-cookie tracking in your browser by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page or, in the EU, the Your Online Choices opt-out page. To opt out of Meta-platform advertising specifically, see Meta's ad-preferences instructions.

3. Global Privacy Control (GPC) and CCPA opt-out

We honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out request for the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the California Privacy Rights Act and analogous U.S. state laws. If your browser transmits a GPC signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of advertising- cookie sharing. You can also opt out by emailing hello@livelingo.io with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."

4. Notice for EU/EEA, UK, and Swiss users

We are deploying a consent-management platform that will allow EU/EEA, UK, and Swiss users to provide informed prior opt-in consent to non-essential cookies, as required by the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the implementing laws of EU Member States, the United Kingdom Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Until the consent-management platform is fully deployed, EU/EEA, UK, and Swiss users may opt out of non-essential cookies by:

  • Configuring their browser to block third-party cookies;
  • Installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above;
  • Using the Digital Advertising Alliance / Your Online Choices opt-out tools linked above; or
  • Enabling the Global Privacy Control browser signal.

We will not place advertising or analytics cookies in EU/EEA, UK, or Swiss jurisdictions where applicable law requires opt-in consent and that consent has not been given. If you believe a cookie has been set in error, contact hello@livelingo.io.

5. iOS App Tracking Transparency

On iOS 14.5 and later, Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework requires apps to obtain your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites. When you first launch the LiveLingo iOS app after a feature that uses tracking, you will see a system prompt asking whether to allow LiveLingo to track your activity. The default is opt-out: if you choose "Ask App Not to Track," we will not access your device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for cross-app tracking. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. The categories of data we declare on the App Store privacy label are listed in our app's Privacy Manifest (PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy).

6. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Cookie & Tracking Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when the policy was last revised.
